Delegation from BFSU British Studies Center at Tufts University for EPIIC Forum
At the invitation of Tufts University of the USA, Professor Wang Zhanpeng from British Studies Center, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), senior undergraduate student Wang Yuechen and 4 other BFSU students attended the EPIIC (Education for Public Inquiry and International Citizenship) Forum with the theme Europe in Turbulence from February 17 to 21, 2016.
The BFSU delegation delivered a presentation and discussed with 47 other young scholars from 14 countries the issues ranging from European identity, refugee crisis to the role of Europe in the world and the impact of Brexit referendum. Professor Wang chaired an expert panel on Sino-Europe relations, talked on the development of bilateral relations since China-Europe 2020 Agenda and delved into cooperation areas between China and major European countries in terms of climate change, trade and other issues.
EPIIC started in 1985 by IGL (Institute for Global Leadership) in Turfs University. Attendees spoke highly of BFSU students’ presentation and speeches. The experience enhanced the students’ awareness as world citizens and broadened their international horizon.
