British Studies Center actively participated in the preparation of the 2013 Festival of European Union Languages and Cultures in BFSU. On 9th May, it invited the Irish ambassador Declan Kelleher whose country held the rotating presidency of the EU to take part in the ambassador forum and to deliver a speech on relations between China and Europe. On the 10th of May, the center invited Feng Zhongping, vice president of the Institute of Modern International Relations, to be a guest at the lecture on relations between China and Europe and to give an academic report to provide a comprehensive and objective understanding of current relations between China and Europe. Professor Wang Zhanpeng presided over the report meeting. Moreover, teachers and students in British Studies Center undertook the work of exhibiting folk customs in UK and Ireland, which are member states of the European Union.
