On September the 10th, Brendan Howlin, Irish Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform visited BFSU and attended the signing ceremony of “the memorandum of understanding on Beijing Foreign Studies University and Irish Embassy in China’s supporting establishing BFSU Irish Studies Center”, at which he delivered a speech entitled “The Irish economic revival in the Euro Zone”. The British Studies Center is responsible for several sub-programs, including translation of the 20th century Irish literature history and will conduct research into the relationships between the UK and its former colonies as well as into the 20th century British-Irish relations based on the translation of relevant literature.
