On 28 May 2015, a forum on the UK general election and its impact was held in Beijing by Journal of European Studies. It was co-sponsored by British Studies Branch of Chinese Association for European Studies (CAES) and British Studies Centre of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). Joining the forum were more than 30 experts from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of CPC, Ministry of Commerce, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Party School of the Central Committee of CPC, Compilation and Translation Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, China Institute of International Studies, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, Nanjing University, China Foreign Affairs University, Shanghai International Studies University, Shandong University, Communication University of China, Inner Mongolia University, etc. In-depth discussions were held on the UK General Election 2015 and its influence on UK political, economic and cultural developments and future trends. Ma Zhengang, visiting professor of BFSU and former Chinese Ambassador to Great Britain, delivered a keynote speech. Huang Ping, Head of the Institute of European Studies of CASS, presided over the symposium. Professor Wang Zhanpeng, Professor Shi Tongyun and a number of postgraduates from BFSU British Studies Centre attended the forum and made speeches concerning British party politics, the film industry and so on.
